The Magnificent Industry

L'Industrie Magnifique is a movement bringing together artists, private companies and public authorities to promote and develop artistic creation, the culture of invention and industrial heritage in local areas. Born in Strasbourg in 2016, it manifests itself through an original act: the meeting of art and industry in the public square.

The first two editions of L'Industrie Magnifique, in 2018 and 2021, saw 50 Alsatian companies working in pairs with a hundred or so local and international artists, leading first to the creation of some fifty original, monumental works of art, and then, with the help of local authorities, to their exhibition in Strasbourg's public squares over two 11-day periods, in May 2018 and June 2021. L'Industrie Magnifique, which attracts 300,000 visitors each time, is the 2nd most popular event in the European capital, after the famous Christmas market.

During St-Art 2023, L'Industrie Magnifique will be announcing the launch of its 3rd edition #LIM2024.25 and exhibiting "Museum of the Moon", Luke Jerram's famous moon that spectators were able to admire in the nave of Strasbourg cathedral in 2021, thanks to the activation of the Osophère and the sponsorship of Vivialys.
